Tantalus Estate Vineyards and Winery

The idyllic, sloping vineyards of Tantalus Estate lie in a gentle, picturesque and sheltered valley in Waiheke’s renowned wine-growing region of Onetangi.

At Tantalus Estate you can have your wedding ceremony, photos, canapés and reception all in one stunning location just 35 minutes by ferry from central Auckland.

The setting includes native trees, an olive grove, macadamia trees and an apiary. The beautifully designed and versatile building is remarkably flexible in its ability to meet different requirements. One space downstairs even offers a peek into our Alibi Brewery.

We offer two romantic settings for your wedding – either on the Northern Lawn, surrounded by wildflowers and vineyard canopies; or on the Northern Deck, overlooking the native wetlands in the east.

Guests can stroll through the vines while they wait for the bridal party to finish with their photos, or they may choose to be served canapés either in the conservatory or in the bright, expansive cellar door space.

The indoor-outdoor flow from the vineyard to the verandah and on into the main restaurant provides a seamless transition for our guests.

The dance floor can be situated inside the main dining area, or in the Alibi Brewer’s lounge.
