The sound of the bagpipes is a wonderful way to welcome your guests on arrival.
Imagine the piper at the entrance to the church or leading the guests to the seating area for the garden ceremony!
A great way to entertain your guests while the wedding photos are taken.
Then, following the ceremony, the newly wed couple being lead by the piper to the reception venue....
The City of Manukau Pipes and Drums was reformed on 1 March 2004 after being in recess since 1995. The band is based in Mangere Bridge and our members are from all over Auckland.
Barry Wallace ex Pipe Major of Auckland Police Pipe Band with a small team of Pipers and Drummers, Joanne Anderson of the ‘Old’ Manukau Pipe Band and the backing of the Manukau City Council reformed the band which is now fully operational with 25 playing Members and a handful of learners coming along.
The band wearing the Blue Wallace Tartan has a focus on participating in community events such as Howick in the park and Christmas parades, social gatherings, Scottish ‘haggis style’ ceremonies and ultimately competitions.
With linkages to the Manukau City Howick Brass Band and the Pakuranga accordinaires we have most bases covered for music and entertainment.
